Donnie Coleman – President & Owner

Donnie Coleman proudly acts as the president and owner at Southern Build and Design. A Union County native, Donnie has been immersed in the world of construction from a young age, learning the trade firsthand and developing a deep passion for building homes that truly reflect the dreams and lifestyles of his clients.

In 2021, Donnie graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, concentrating in Entrepreneurship. This academic background, combined with his lifetime of experience in the construction industry, gives Donnie a unique perspective on both the practical and business sides of home building.

Donnie’s approach to custom home building is rooted in his belief that every detail matters. His dedication to quality craftsmanship and his commitment to client satisfaction are the cornerstones of Southern Build and Design. Whether overseeing the construction of a new custom home or guiding clients through the design process, Donnie is driven by a singular goal: to bring each client’s vision to life, creating spaces where families can thrive and memories can be made.

Crystal Coleman –

Designer and Acquisitions

Crystal Coleman is the creative force behind Southern Build and Design’s custom homes, where she leads the design team with a blend of vision and expertise. As head of design, Crystal plays a pivotal role in helping clients shape their dream homes, guiding them through every aspect of the design process—from initial concepts to selecting finishes and creating cohesive, beautiful interiors.

In addition to her work with Southern Build and Design, Crystal is an accomplished real estate agent with Keller Williams Select in Indian Trail, NC. Specializing in single-family homes and land, she brings a unique perspective to the table, helping clients find the perfect property and then transforming it into a home that exceeds their expectations.

Crystal’s dual roles in design and real estate make her an invaluable resource for clients, offering a seamless experience from start to finish. Her passion for design is matched only by her commitment to understanding her clients’ needs and making their visions a reality. Whether it’s finding the ideal location or crafting the perfect interior, Crystal’s attention to detail and dedication to excellence ensure that every project is a success.

Don Coleman –

Owner and CEO

Don Coleman is the driving force behind Southern Build and Design, serving as the owner and CEO. With over 20 years of experience in construction and real estate, Don has developed a keen eye for detail and a commitment to uncompromising standards. His deep-rooted passion for quality craftsmanship ensures that every home Southern Build and Design creates meets the highest level of excellence.

A graduate of East Carolina University, Don earned his degree in Business Finance with a concentration in Real Estate in 1996. This educational background, combined with his extensive hands-on experience, gives Don a unique perspective on both the financial and practical aspects of home building.

Having lived in Union County for the past 25 years, Don is deeply connected to the community he serves. His long-standing relationship with the area informs his understanding of what makes a house a home in this region. From the initial blueprint to the final inspection, Don’s meticulous attention to detail and hands-on approach are evident in every project.
